What we collect, and why.

When you subscribe

We store your email address, the list you joined (field notes or special reports) and the time you joined. We use it only to send those emails. Every email will include a way to unsubscribe.

When you send a research question

We store your question, the time you sent it and, if you gave one, your email address so an editor can reply. We may publish a question as a prompt for future research, but never with your name or email.

What else is recorded

To stop spam, the server keeps a one-way scrambled version of your network address for a short time. It cannot be turned back into the address. We do not use advertising trackers.

Where it is kept

On our web host's server, in a folder that is not reachable from the web. We do not sell or share it.
